This cosy Mediterranean-styled bar and restaurant, with its restrained lighting and bare brick interior, is a relatively new addition to the local eating and drinking scene and is situated in a prime location in Castlefield. Popular with all ages on account of its canalside position, outdoor terrace and comfy sofas inside, Abaco is a bar that tries - and generally succeeds - to cater for every taste. The main menu offers interesting sandwiches and bistro style meals for between #3 and #6 from midday to 3pm. A good selection of draught designer beers includes Staropramen, Red Stripe and Bombadier at an average of #2.50 a pint with bottled beer in a similar price range. The wine list is limited but daily specials are on offer at around #11 a bottle.
