The Metropolitan is fast becoming the hub of West Didsbury -Manchester's answer to Notting Hill. Always busy, you can enjoy a wide range of real ales (including Black Sheep) in a quietly fashionable atmosphere that blends Edwardian refinement with wooden bookcases and roaring open fires in the winter.An extensive selection of malt whiskies, a superb wine list (available by the bottle or the glass) and some of the best pub food in the area is served from noon until 9:30p daily in the restaurant annexe. Starters may include fresh mussels with garlic and herbs for around #4; the roast breast of duckling in pineapple, honey and almond sauce for around #9 is a recommended main course.
