Mediterranean colours of burnt sienna, rustic bamboo and touches of olive green complement ceramic tiled flooring and lighting within this spacious and airy trattoria. The outsized menu displays the delights of pastas, pizzas, macaroni, tagliatelli, tortellini and the specialita dello chef with a choice of steak, veal, turkey, chicken, liver, halibut and salmon. There are vintage and classic wines plus the sparkle of spumanti. Starters include melon, minestrone, Parma ham and seafood. The delicious homemade sweets are a delight to the eye as well as the palate.

  • Nothing apart from leaving.
  • Terrible food, awful staff, noise from club below.

“We had the unfortunate experience of eating at this restaurant this weekend, and it is certainly not an experience we will be repeating. We needed somewhere to eat after the Grand National, and since there was 9 of us we were looking for somewhere simple, and good value. For this sort of food we usually go to Casa Italia which offers good quality, reasonably priced Italian food, but could not get a table and so headed into Casa Bella on Spec. What a mistake. We were greeted and told that we would only have to wait ten minutes. 35 minutes later we were seated, with no apology. We ordered our food from the menu, which made the food sound delicious. The starters arrived, and since we had only ordered olives, garlic bread and calamari, there was not much which could go wrong. Then, our mains arrived. Out of 9 of us, nobody was satisfied. I had ordered king prawn and monkfish skewers which arrived with no marinade, no side orders and no taste. On top of this, we paid £16.95 for the pleasure! Another member of our part ordered a chicken dish, which arrived greasy and overcooked and was served with a plate of microwaved vegetables. Even my boyfriend and his friend who ordered filled pasta and pizza respectively, were very disappointed. The pasta was stodgy and the pizza was dry. After we had eaten what we could of the terrible food, the bill arrived. They had the cheek to add a 10% gratuity on top of the already ridiculous prices for what we had received. I decided that I just had to say something to the restaurant manager, not to try and get money off the bill, but because I like to receive feedback in my line of work and thought that they may appreciate hearing the truth about the substandard food that they were producing. The staff was most unhelpful and the responses I received seemed almost rehearsed. They told me that over the weekend they had had over 600 diners and not received one complaint ( something I doubt) and when I questioned the prices, the manager started to tell me that it was because he had bills (rent, electricity and gas) to pay! Clearly as a customer this is not my concern! This restaurant left a terrible taste in my mouth, not only for the awful food but for the rude and blind sighted attitudes of the staff- avoid at all costs!”

  • Nice building.
  • The whole experience from start to finish.

“The only good thing about this restaurant is the building it is set in. The service is diabolical and the food is mediocre. One of the worst meals I have had for a long time and would never go back here.”
