No tacky temples or glittering goddesses here. Amrit's interior is a reflection of modern India: simple, forward-looking and tasteful. The cuisine is classic north Indian fare with some excursions into southern Indian fields. Fresh ingredients and great lassis show that the chef knows a thing or two about quality. Starters range from EUR2-5. Main dishes range from EUR4-11): the grilled duck from the tandoori oven (EUR 11) being highly recommended. Half a litre of German or French table wine costs EUR 6.50.

  • Good food, excellent choice, great value for money.
  • Very crowded at times, long wait possible if you haven't reserved a table.

“Menu has a great choice of dishes, some of which are excellent. Some curries and masalas are slightly adapted to European taste (a bit sweeter and creamier) but with intelligence. I recommend the paneer.”
