Encore (The)

This pub and restaurant is set in a Tudor-style listed building. Situated near the River Avon waterfront this establishment offers British traditional food as well as bar snacks and cask ales. Beamed ceilings and old stone floors make for that cosy, old-fashioned pub ambience while the comfortable upstairs restaurant boasts some interesting features and a range of Shakespearean pictures. Beefeater steaks from a 7oz fillet to a 10oz rump are the most well-known food attractions here. Other excellent British choices are prime Scottish smoked salmon, Brian Turner's classic steak and kidney pudding and Lincolnshire duck with rich plum sauce. You can get a two-course meal from about #12 a head or a three-course at around #16. Please note that a children's menu is available.
