Everyday at tea-time, one of Britain's oldest and most wonderful traditions takes place afternoon tea. For those who take it seriously, Fortnum & Mason is a congenial spot in which to observe the ritual in modern form. For reasonable rates, the usual scones, cakes and sandwiches are on offer, as well as a dizzying array of teas and coffee.
