Casa Mexicana

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Gloucester Road lies this oasis of Mexicana. It's very informal and lively, but the food is taken seriously and is way above your average Mexican fare - which is probably why it's been going strong for 15 years and has garnered so many recommendations from the national and local press. With a selection of dishes for both carnivores and herbivores, along with a variety of fish specialities, you can't go far wrong - sizzling fajitas, pork taco tray with beans, guacamole and sour cream, nachos etc. If you've got room for dessert (unlikely) then the lime pie and cinnamon meringue with Bailey's ice cream are delicious. The wine list has plenty of Spanish, Chilean and Mexican choices, with house wine starting at #10 a bottle. Or if you want to really immerse yourself in the Latin culture, work your way through their tequilas!
