It's worth searching out the entrance door to Capetti's, just off Pulteney Bridge, if you appreciate Italian food. Not good if you're claustrophobic though as the door leads to a staircase down to the vaults, which eventually open into Spring Gardens Road by the river. Tables are packed in between whitewashed walls and the usual trattoria decor in this friendly restaurant that is definitely a cut above the simple pizzeria. As with most restaurants in Bath, set lunch (3 course) is great value at little over a fiver, otherwise expect an evening meal with wine to set you back around twenty quid. Good for vegetarians too and the garlic bread is seriously garlic.
