Beau Nash House, built in 1720 for Juliana Popjoy - Beau Nash's lifelong mistress became Beau Nash's own residence after he lost his own house through gambling. Popjoys has two separate dining areas, on the ground floor and the first floor. The ground floor dining room is a comfortable, intimate space, decorated in warm golds. The first floor is used for private functions. The menus are quite exceptional. Typical main courses include grilled duck with pink grapefruit and apple compote and baked filo parcel filled with field mushrooms, artichoke heart and Swiss cheese with ginger, chilli and coriander yoghurt sauce. Desserts include creme brulee and chocolate and cointreau mousse with creme chantilly.
