Founded in 1628, Zum Schiffchen still serves up the same traditional dark beer (EUR 1.50) and high quality regional dishes as it did back in the early days. The specialities of the house include dishes like schweinshaxe (knuckle of pork with roast potatoes) for EUR 13.50 and pea and sausage casserole for EUR 5.50. The restaurant can get particularly busy during major trade fairs.

  • Cozy atmosphere.
  • A little bit noisy.

“A very fine restaurant, very old but still young at spirit. The service is very good. The food is better than other restaurant in the area. It's good for business lunch, tourist lunch or asking a girl to marry you. Remember to ask the way to stop them for bringing beer to you!”
