If you like cafes and bars where everything is made of wood, here's a place to go. The Engelbat is a great place for a beer and a chat, if you can find a place to sit. There are regular musical performances, mostly jazz and chanson. A piano sits on a small, raised seating area that doubles as a stage. The specialty at Engelbat is the crepe, but of a particularly hearty variety. Each sort has a name, like Heidi or Peter, or Heike, and whether sweet, savoury, vegetarian or otherwise there's one to suit any taste. They are especially filling, a bargain at between 8 and 14 Marks. Enjoy! kitchen: 11a-midnight daily
