This pub is of the spit and sawdust variety, with a shamrock painted, scrubbed wooden floor, strewn with sawdust and (by written permission of the management) the shells of the peanuts available on all the tables. Assorted musical instruments, from a piano to a bodhran, hang from the ceiling; hinting at the live music available here on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights.

The bar has cushioned settles and tables, while food is served in an adjacent room. Green checked tables in small alcoves give a cosy feeling and the food here is cheap and cheerful. A Sunday roast dinner with all the trimmings will only set you back #2.50, while the Irish coffee to finish it off will cost you #2.
