The size of this take-out restaurant does not match the size of its menu - the former is tiny, the latter huge. There is a good selection of appetisers, soups and salads. Guests can choose from over 40 main dishes, and top their meal off with one of ten desserts. Main dishes include fish, shrimp, octopus, chicken, duck, beef, pork and vegetarian dishes. Between noon and 3pm (except for Sundays), more than a dozen lunch dishes are available at reduced prices. For two people, the Chiangmai menu is recommended.

- Nice personnel, very good food, cozy atmosphere, near to Bismarckplatz and Crowne Plaza.
- Large windows sometimes open which result in a draught, if summer, too small to always get a table.
“Thanapon is a Thai restaurant that offers many common Thai dishes at a reasonable price and the ambient is cozy and even a bargain at lunches (take-away possible). The food is delicious and the service is quick and helpful. The location is not in the Al-Sadat, but many Heidelbergians like to go there for a good Thai. I like it best from the five Thai restaurants in Heidelberg.”
