The Hotel Salzburg on the Bahnhofplatzt (in front of the main station) is the tallest building in the area and as such, it is not to be misses. During the past few years the square has been redesigned and the Europa, which was built in the 1950s on a spot that used to be occupied by the Hotel de Europe, was threatened with closure. It was eventually renovated and reopened. There is a cafe that offers breakfast's for both hotel and non-hotel guests. This meal is expensive, but the views over Salzburg from the rooftop cafe are worth paying that little extra for.
