RitterkuchlSalvatorgasse 6, Innsbruck, AustriaTel: +43 5223 53120 • Web: Visit this site » Restaurant Ritterkuchl in Hall in Tyrol is set apart from most of its peers. Guests are met by the greeting 'Gott zum Grusse' ('God be praised') and a goblet of mead before being seated at one of the enormous wooden tables in a vaulted room set out like the abode of a late medieval Tyrolean knight. Knight Sigbold von Drachenfels announces the first course with a loud booming voice and guests are then served with a choice of four, six or eight courses! The meal will feature food such as honey wine, and old-fashioned bread, quiche and onion sauce, spicy chicken soup with vegetables and herbs, filled ravioli with berry sauce, 'Spanferkerl' and chicken, dumplings, greens, pickled cabbage, cheese and fruit and apple cake. Of course, such a feast can't just be plucked out of the freezer and microwaved; guests should book at least two days in advance. You can also get some more usual dishes from the regular menu should you prefer to. Reservation in advance is obligatory; for groups of more than 20 lunch is also available.
