StiftskellerBurggraben 31, Innsbruck, AustriaTel: +43 512 583490 The Stiftskeller (the name roughly translates into 'chapter cellar') is a large restaurant, several centuries old, located in a southern part of the Hofburg. This part of the building has had many diverse functions throughout its history and the Stiftskeller itself has many different rooms, each with an atmosphere of its own. There are small rooms with low vaulted ceilings, creating a very comfortable, historical setting, as well as some grand rooms with knight's armour adorning the walls, and two terraces. Traditional, hearty central-European fare (Sauerbraten or the equivalent of a ploughman's lunch) sets the main theme of the menu, although there are fish dishes too. The prices, generally speaking, are average for the area which attracts a lot of locals to the restaurant.
