Formerly the Lyon's Pub on Grand until it was sold in May 1997, this restaurant has undergone a makeover. The subdued palette and lighting of the interior, coupled with the spot-lit Grecian art, make this a cosmopolitan-looking spot. The large oval bar is comfortable and the brass is shiny. Burgers and sandwiches are still offered, but now you can also order steak (T-bone, New York strip) and char-grilled Iowa pork chops. The house brew is surprisingly good. A good selection of import and domestic beers are available in bottles or on tap. A good wine list is available and liquor is served. Live entertainment is featured on many nights; phone ahead to inquire. Reservations recommended for parties of 10 or more. Tuesday and Thursday from 4p to 8p students receive a discount on burgers and drinks by showing student IDs.

  • Food not all that bad, not that good either though.
  • Service, atmosphere.

“A friend and I stopped in for dinner while shopping on Grand. The food was fine, nothing too special. The most disturbing part of the experience was the wait staff. Not only were they dressed entirely too revealing, but they came across actually smutty and rude. I don't feel like mini-skirts and tall black socks are appropriate and neither is wearing your hair down as a server or applying lipstick in the dining room mirrors. Our server was entirely too blunt with us and incredibly slow. Her whole attitude showed she didn't care. The worst part of the experience was when we frequented the establishment that Friday evening with friends of ours. Standing at the bar after ordering a drink I was literally smacked by a cocktail waitress, very purposefully. This very rude, oh so much better than me server, actually shoved me out of her way. When I said something to my group of friends, she got up in my face and confronted me. As a former server and cocktail server, I could never even imagine confronting a customer, let alone one minding her own business. She then proceeded to harass me the entire night, making snood comment as she walked by our table. We also saw her demanding a tip from another customer, also speaking to him rudely. This waitress should not have a job. The service and treatment paired with the trashy atmosphere will keep me from ever even approaching the door again. Save yourself from the horrendous experience that is "the wild onion".”

“I always buy crown, and cokes, and somehow this place cant make one to save their lives. If I wanted a coke I would sit at home and drink one.”

  • Nice bar, attractive decor
  • Extremely poor customer service, very rude staff

“I have never had a good experience at this bar. They have a history of making very weak drinks (so much soda you cant even taste the alcohol), and don't expect them to fix the drinks for you when you complain. They tried to tell me they would get fired for correcting a mis-poured drink. Because of this I didn't tip the bartender, and I was then mocked by the bartender. They will never take a penny of my money again!”
