Archetto (Le)

Via dell'Archetto, 26, Rome, Italy
Tel: +39 066789064

This spaghetti house is close to the Trevi fountain and Piazza Venezia. Romans know it for its excellent spaghetti and superb sauces, and the variously prepared 'bruschette' are also very good. The large variety of spaghetti dishes means they are divided into different categories with condiments such as pecorara, stuffed courgette flowers, clams, capers, white wine, fish etc. The Scozzese pizza is made with sausage and mushrooms, the Catanese with aubergines and there is also one made with ricotta cheese. Tourists tend to sit at tables outside in the shade, beside the fairly quiet street. Romans, on the other hand, prefer to eat inside. Go downstairs and you will find a cool and rustic basement with lots of tables.

  • Great food!
  • None.

“We ate lunch there last Sunday, during the Rome Marathon. We had walked by it earlier in the morning and stopped on our way back to our hotel. Was just starting to fill up, we just had pizzas, which were very good, and beers. I would go again, looking at the tables around us the food all looked wonderful. Waiters were attentive but the place was really filling up as we left, so may not have been that great after, but who cares, you're in Rome! Seemed mostly like locals were there when we were.”

  • The coffee and ice cream were good.
  • Exceptionally poor service.

“Located in a dark damp dank busy alleyway. Frequented mostly by tourists. Poor service. If a native appears they will be given a table ahead of you, no matter how long you have waited. Be sure to bring cash as often the card service is not working!”
