The food is the focus and this popular Mexican place in Adams-Morgan. Lively mariachi and other kinds of Mexican music provide a cheerful atmosphere. The tacos here are the real deal, served only with deliciously grilled meat. There is a zest to the seasonings at Mixtec (the kitchen uses some 200 different spices), resulting in flavors that can easily be distinguished from one another. The seafood, prepared in various regional styles, is not to be missed. Patrons also have their choice of 30 kinds of tequila, tequila-mixed drinks, Mexican beers and fresh fruit juices.
