Habanita

Habanita

Golfo, 3, Seville, Spain

This bar-restaurant is situated near Alameda de Hercules, one of the most charming and happening corners in town. You can enjoy Cuban and Mediterranean food in their lovely terrace, and there are plenty of veggie options as well. The salsa-loving atmosphere and decor will warm you up before going out for a drink. Recommened food and drink include: yaca and mojitos, lagrimitas de pollo (chicken morsels), Havana-style aubergines and arepas (large corn flatbreads). Don't forget they have take-away food as well. Prices range from (EUR 1.20) for beer and (EUR 4.20) for rum cocktails. A great choice if you want to discover the secret of authentic Cuban flavour.

  • Could be hard to find for visitors.

“My friends and I went here often while I was studying in Seville. It was a nice change from all the other Spanish tapes every other place had. My favorite was the chicken breast in coconut sauce (Pechuga de polo en salsa de coco) and the potatoes in a red sauce (papas en mojo picon?). They have tons of vegetarian and even vegan items and the different sizes of portions (tapas, media raciones, y raciones) allow you to try many things. This was my favorite place in Seville!! ”

  • One of the few places you can find vegetarian.
  • Bad service, bad food.

“I am pretty sure Habanita ripped us off. We were charged 13.50 Euros for a small jug (maybe half liter) of sangria. The receipt said "various" and then the price. From my experience in the restaurant industry, "various" would be where they enter whatever price they feel like. I shouldn't have paid it. I think they did this because they delivered the wrong food to our table and we started to eat it. There is no way we would've known it was not our food because we asked them to bring whatever they recommended. They pulled the food out of our hands and off the table mid-bite and said "No food for you!" and than billed us 13.50 for sangria. I think they were trying to recover the cost of the food they accidentally delivered to us, and only had one bite of. The food was not very good either.”
