“My husband and I had dinner at Le Vallauris the last week of December 2007 while on vacation. We chose this restaurant because it came highly rated and we wanted a private, romantic dinner. Unfortunately that did not happen. When we arrived we were sat in a huge room with large tables packed full. Each table had two newborn infants and it was obvious that all the people sitting at these tables were family. So, it was a large family gathering, with us in the middle. My husband and I had to sit side by side facing out toward the room. We felt we were staring at these people, and they too felt uncomfortable (they spoke to us later). Because of the mess of the room, my husband and I asked not once, not twice but four times to be moved. I'm a business owner of a large company and when a customer is uncomfortable or unsatisfied for good reason I bend over backward to make it right. Each person we asked told us no. Not allowed. There were many tables available, but with more than two chairs. It was obvious that we were not going to be moved just because we had only two people, nevermind that we were miserable. To top off our evening, I got up to use the restroom. Mind you, my normal experience in an upscale restaurant is that if one of the wait staff sees you walking by, they allow you to pass before moving in front of you. Not so at this restaurant. As I was returning to my seat, one of the wait staff flew by me in such a hurry that he bumped my shoulder and I fell over into another customer sitting at a nearby table. Not so much as an 'excuse me' or 'pardon me' from the waiter. He also didn't stop to see if I was OK. As we were leaving, we spoke with the family sitting at the various tables around us. They apologized for all the noise and distractions from the babies. They were told by Le Vallauris restaurant when making their reservation that they would have a private room. Shame. The food was good. The wait staff and customer service is something entirely different. Plus, the owners are pompous. Don't go! I don't want others to experience a complete waste of money as I have.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in Palm SpringsView all restaurants in Palm Springs
