The city's first vegetarian restaurant, Golden Temple cultivates a bohemian 1970s-throwback ambiance with its bare bones dining area adjacent to a health food store. At the counter you can order such popular dishes as bean burritos, spinach quesadillas, and the G.T. Stack (a big bowl of brown basmati rice with black beans, Monterey Jack cheese, salsa, sour cream, guacamole and jalapenos). The homemade whole wheat bread with butter makes a hearty appetizer. Vegan items are also available. The attached store sells organic produce, health food, natural toiletries, footwear, books, spices and incense.
