“Went to AZ88 Saturday night for dinner. Never been here before - decor is sort of Herman Miller meets Tomorrow land. Despite a paltry selection of by-the-glass wines (maybe 5 red wines), we selected a few. Our waiter came back shortly with mini carafes of each wine. He poured some into each glass, and left the remainder on the table. I took a sniff from my glass -- corked! The place was a zoo, but luckily he was still within hailing distance, and I waived him over. "I'm sorry, but my wines corked," I said. "Are you sure," he asked giving my glass a sniff. "Yes, I'm sure," I replied (sans any attitude IMHO). He no more, but put the glass on his tray, picked up the individual carafe, and headed away from the table. He returned some minutes later and said nothing - but left the wine list again for me. Hmmm, I guess this meant they weren't opening a new bottle, but were instead moving right to step #3 - offer the patron something else. Looking over the list of maybe 6 uninteresting red wines by the glass - and imagining the possibility of coming up with another shot at 'corked,' I thought to heck with it, and ordered a Harp Lager. Admittedly the waiter was busy, and it soon became just as obvious this was more of a bar than a "wine place." But that said it would've been nice not to question me about the wine, and nicer if I'd been given some direction when he returned. On the plus side, they did have some great burgers.”

“The food was delicious and the atmosphere was excellent! Great eye candy too. The service was mediocre, a lot of buzzing around without purpose. My waiter reminded me of the guy from the Gilmore Girls with the overdone French accent. Mon Dieu!”

“AZ88 is a refreshing surprise of modern atmosphere and affordable yet inspired cuisine. Neon and marble make this restaurant a fun getaway for an evening out. I brought my 3 month old with me the first time I dined there and, though a little cramped, the experience was pleasant. ” Popular Restraurants in ScottsdaleView all restaurants in Scottsdale
