A Birmingham institution for over 20 years, Browdy's offers New York deli-style meals, both hot and cold. Try a Reuben made with kosher corned beef, or if you're really hungry, the crispy and spicy fried chicken dinner. Browdy's Beefburger is large enough for a meal and leftovers. Fresh baked breads and rolls are available, with a variety of cookies for dessert. This restaurant is particularly busy for lunch on weekends. Packaged Jewish foods (matzoh meal, Israeli imports) can also be purchased here.

  • Closes early.

“Browdy's has been around forever, so you know it's good. I've been going there since I was a child and I'm in my 30s. They have the best fried chicken in town and awesome Reuben sandwiches. We love to stop by on Saturday morning and pick up some fried chicken and cookies before we head down to Tuscaloosa. If you are having company over, pick up a cheese ball - they are the best. It's a cream cheese and something concoction. It must weigh 5lbs and I could eat the whole thing myself! ”
