Crape Myrtle's Cafe2721 S 18th St, Homewood, ALCrape Myrtle's takes its name from the showy trees that bloom fuschia all summer long in front of the building. Located in Homewood's Little Professor Bookstore, this casual cafe serves fresh sandwiches, soups, salads, Southern-style vegetables, fish and homestyle favorites such as meatloaf sandwiches. Place your order at the counter, carry your tray to a comfortable table on the main floor or upper balcony, then enjoy your meal as you page through magazines and books that are for sale here. There are always several flavored iced teas as well as other beverages, but no alcohol. Choose from desserts such as chocolate cake or buttermilk custard pie.

“Excellent discovery. Had terrific breakfast there of an egg strata and a blueberry muffin. Was told they'd recently added breakfast. I was staying in hotel nearby and went back for crab cake and a drinks the next night. They share a building with a bookstore and both remained open into the evening. When I left about 9:30 pm both were still open. Reminds me of a quieter version of Kramer Books and its restaurant in D.C.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in HomewoodView all restaurants in Homewood
