Located next to the Mercado Shopping Center, The Crab House is an upscale seafood eatery dedicated to preparing some of the freshest and best-tasting seafood in Orlando. Don't be fooled by its rustic charm and casually-attired waitstaff: The Crab House offers top-notch seafood at comparatively high prices. Appetizers include a wide variety of steamed crabs and other shellfish, while dinners range from the fresh catch to the eatery's namesake, lots and lots of crabs from garlic to blue, Alaskan king to stone crabs. Those varieties are quite different, so don't be shy about asking for an explanation from the friendly help. Grab a "free drink or soup" coupon before you visit to help defray the cost-you'll find the coupons in stores and resorts all over town.

  • Clean and nicely maintained with a pleasant atmosphere.
  • Food was nothing special and not a particularly good value.

“About eight of us from the office went for lunch one day. Two had the fish and chips, 1 had the Talapia and the rest crab cakes. The wait was a bit excessive for lunchtime, but they did supply us with bread and butter which was very good. The bread was hot, with a very soft, moist center and wonderful fresh-baked smell. When our meals finally arrived, both my colleague and I were surprised that our fish and chips consisted of only 3 very scrawny fish sticks! Usually this meal is prepared from a less expensive white fish, so one would not expect to receive a petite portion! Comments from my other colleagues were not enthusiastic. The crab cakes were ok. But nothing close to causing a stampede of Marylanders to migrate to Orlando. If you've ever had a truly GREAT crab cake, you will come to realize that 90% of the restaurants advertising them just aren't worth it!!!!! It's a rare to find the real McCoy! The talapia was also disappointing from what I was told. We all might have been a little happier if the cost were a few dollars cheaper per meal. However, the food still wasn't anything unique or outstanding.”
