Cha Cha Cha Waikiki342 Seaside Avenue, Honolulu, HITel: (808) 923-7797 Mexican food with Caribbean flair is served at this busy bar and grill. All the familiar south-of-the-border dishes are here, but they're flavored with Cuban and Central American overtones. There is a choice of salsas ranging from very mild to so hot that you'll breathe fire. And if spicy food is your preference, you can request that your entree be served blazing. A few tropical drinks or frosted beers may cool the flames. The decor is a colorful mix of Caribbean and Mexican styles.

“When I lived in Waikiki for a few months I liked this place so much it was my "local". Nobody has mentioned one of its specialties: tequila. They have 30 different ones including a spicy one they make from scratch. I always get the spicy margarita. The mango or pineapple salsa (the season determines which fruit they use) is memorable - perfectly spicy and sweet. A few of the burritos are boring and dry though. The prices are very reasonable for Waikiki. One order of fajitas is plenty of food for two people. You can sit inside or outside they have tiki torches at night on the small lanai. Close to the beach. Parking is difficult - your best bet is to park towards Ala Wai Blvd. and walk. The service is great and usually friendly - most of the staff has worked there for more than 10 years. To the person who complained about the avocado "seed": that is to prevent the guacamole from turning brown - hardly an indicator of bad service. One complaint - you have to pay for chips and salsa. I hate penny-pinching like that.”

“This restaurant is an oasis in the high priced setting of Waikiki. The food was not only abundant, but of the very best quality, fresh and hot when it arrived at the table. The service was very nicely paced, as well, not the " turn and burn / get me in get me out" service that one normally is subject to in Waikiki. To the ownership, if you can part with the recipe for your sweet potatoes please pass it along, to anyone visiting the restaurant, be sure to try them. This from a restaurant manager for over twenty years.”

“This restaurant serves decent food and I was a regular customer but lately their service has gone downhill. I had problems with my last three or four take out orders. On one, I ordered a side order of guacamole and when I opened the plastic container at home there was a big guacamole seed in it.”

“Very good food (not the traditional Mexican fare) and excellent service. When we remarked how good the spicy yellow hot sauce was the waitress brought us three full small plastic containers to take home with us. We packed them in cold storage for the flight home and enjoyed a little bit of Cha Cha Cha for a few days afterward in Northern CA. ” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in Oahu
