Shore Bird Beach Broiler

2169 Kalia Road, (Outrigger Reef Hotel), Honolulu, HI
Tel: (808) 922-2887

You are the chef at this eatery. You can pick and poke at steak, ribs, chicken and fresh fish as it all sizzles on your own personal grill. If you'd rather not be your own chef, the restaurant can prepare food for you in the kitchen. This place has been a family favorite for more than 20 years. The salad bar is one of Waikiki's finest, and prices are very reasonable. The dining area features that not-quite-inside, not-quite outside architecture that is so common in balmy Hawaii.

  • Diamond Head view.
  • Everything else.

“Dingy, outdated interior and rude, lazy wait staff. There are plenty of other places to enjoy a beautiful view in Waikiki. Skip the Shorebird and keep walking.”

  • The view was amazing; I would love to be able to see it again.
  • It was just a little pricy.

“When we stayed at the Outrigger Reef we loved trying out The Shore Bird, the atmosphere is so Hawaiian and soothing you have to love it plus the food is wonderful. My only complaint is that it is a little pricy though that's what you have to expect for it being right on the beach and serving wonderful food but once you get past the price it is a great restaurant and the food is very good with many local dishes on the menu. Plus my husband and I both agree that it was family friendly with their great kids menu. You really should try this place out it was differently a once in a life time experience probably because the breath taking view of diamond head. ”

  • The restaurant is not air-conditioned.
  • The staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional.

“As visitors, we expected to be treated with mutual respect, however, the staff, all of them, all the way up to the general manager were horribly condescending. As a matter of fact this young man was off hand with our complaints of his staff. We asked to be seated with a view during a slow evening. Not only were we refused the re seat, we were ridiculed and given the brush off.”
