“No doubt Mama's is a fine restaurant, but for the price, they must be laughing all the way to the bank. Great snob appeal. They even tell you who supposedly caught the fish you are eating so you can really have that unique experience. That may appeal to some, but it is not worth the extra $75 to $80 you will spend here for a meal that is comparable to a half dozen or so other fish houses on the island. We suspected all this and went anyway because it was our fourth time on Maui and we had never gone there. For sure we won't go again.”

“My wife and I have been to Maui 4 times and have heard that you should go try Mama's Fish House so we did and we will be returning again. Everything from the food which was fabulous, the service, the view was awesome. I recommend that everyone should try this restaurant at least once.”

“Beautiful and romantic setting by the beach. Fantastic fish and seafood. After that, everything is downhill from here: crowded, overpriced and dreadful service. Food is slow to come, so if you take the family with you, the kids will be screaming for the food 30-45 minutes before you see any signs of it. In the meantime the servers take it in turns to offer you drinks and drinks and more drinks, also over priced, we never knew which server was in charge of our table. Even the valet parking guys were too busy to care. I am sure this place used to be a gem sometime ago, but the hype is now to blame for the disappointment.”

“EXTREMELY OVERRATED!!! Save your money. Service was pathetic and food was fair. It took a very long time to get our food once we ordered. (4 soft drinks later) Then they were in such a rush to get someone else sat at our table that they didn't even ask if we wanted dessert, dropped off the check and literally pushed us out the door. Food was fair at best. Nothing special for sure. If you're going to drop $60 per person (that's without cocktails or dessert), go to a Luau. At least you get a show with it.” 5 of 6 people found this review helpful.

“Ate here during my honeymoon. Was a suggested restaurant by our hotel concierge. Very good local types of fish. Try the Ono! It's also right on the water, so it's perfect for a stroll on the beach after dinner. Can be a bit pricey, but my wife and I thought it was worth it. I think reservations are needed during the high-season.” 2 of 3 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in Maui
