“New owners. Terrible everything, my wife and I have always been a big fan of Pelican Pete's. But I had to go away for a year or so on business, and we just recently came back, and Pelican Pete's was one of the places we were just dying to visit again. But when we arrived at about 1 pm on a Wednesday, the place was dead. I figured there would be at least a little lunch business, but except for the 2 people at the bar, my wife and I were the only ones there. I always get the 20 oz. NY Strip steak and my wife gets the seafood platter. My steak was cooked right, rare, and the fries and Cole slaw that came with it were fine, but the steak was not seasoned. They used to at least salt and pepper it while cooking it. My wife's seafood platter was horrible. The Mussels were still closed after cooking and you should not eat them if they do not open after cooking. The platter came with maybe 8 Shrimp. The clams and Oysters were okay and the crab legs were nasty. It was like they had been cooked and re-cooked many times. The crab meat just disintegrated to mush when you opened the legs and tried to remove the meat. Hardly anything on that platter was eatable. She also got a side order of onion rings and there were only 4 onion rings. Anyway it was a horrible experience. Also Pelican Pete's has always been a bit expensive but in the past it was always worth it. But my wifes seafood platter was $30 and my steak was $20 which is way over priced for the quality and portion sizes.”
