“Atmosphere - 10 if you like it. 1 if you don't. If you're looking for a piled high platter of fried seafood in FRESH oil, this is the place. I've been looking for something like the 'famous' Calabash seafood closer to Wilmington and finally found Hollands. Food is actually better and more of it. At the suggestion of our friendly waitress my wife and I shared a platter of catfish, shrimp, and scallops. Piles of perfectly golden items on heaps of fries and slaw. Delicious. Price was 1/2 what the city would charge and plenty for the 2 of us. Might be a little out of the way, but well worth the 30 minute drive from Wilmington. 4 stars from us!”

“Hollands Shelter Creek is out of the way for me, but well worth the journey. Most times we get together as a group and ride motorcycles there, in fact we have had what we found refer to as a, Cat-Fish Run, there just to eat and enjoy the location. You see both of the dining rooms jut out over the river. There is a landing there so if you are on the water its easy to stop in for some fine fried sea food.”

“I'm a transplanted city boy, and Holland's is pure country--at its best. It's located in the woods on an offshoot of the northeast cape fear river, and virtually all tables offer a rustic view. It seems an unlikely location for a seafood restaurant, but the food is great. Fried seafood is the specialty, and it's hard to beat--especially at the modest prices. The service is casual and friendly, and the atmosphere is that of a woodsy rustic cabin. There's a gift shop with a selection of no wines. Holland's is definitely "special"--and very popular.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“If you drive by Holland¿s shelter creek restaurant you would think that only "good old' boys" go there. That could not be farther from the truth. Check out the parking lot, Mercedes, cedillas, Lexus sit right next to pick ups and soccer mobiles. Whilst the interior can be called "country rustic," there is nothing country rustic about the quality of the food. The fried seafood is the champion here. Plates overflow with fried shrimp, fish, scallops with hush puppies, slaw and fries. Even seniors have their own specials in the seafood department. Holland's offers great price performers that easily out perform the downtown restaurants in price and quality. Service is fast and friendly. For dessert ask for an ice cream cone whilst you pay your bill at the register. You will be floored by the size of the cone you get for just one dollar...” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in Burgaw
