• The atmosphere & the service was outstanding.
• There really were none.

“We arrived at the restaurant at 7:00 and needed to finish eating in time for the play which started at 8:00. We informed the hostess and then our waitress of this. They told us it would be a rush to manage that, but they would make the effort. We helped them by not ordering appetizers or salads. We made the play with 15 minutes to spare. The food was great and the service was outstanding. We ate there on a cool July evening (upper 70's) and had no problem with being hot. It is expensive, but is definitely not diner food. We had salmon, cobia, and a petite filet. I loved the plantain with my cobia, the steak was tender & cooked as ordered, and my husband said the salmon was cooked the way he wanted. The only negative was the shoestring potatoes with the steak. They were delicious but hard to eat.”

• We loved the ambience and the sophistication of this restaurant.
• We disliked uninformed people who judge without understanding fine dining.

“We dine in NYC and other upscale places quite often. We were quite comfortable and pleased with Green Gables, for it was upscale, sophisticated and had wonderful, innovative offerings. The service was excellent, and the food outstanding. Being used to only the best, we were not only pleased, but we do recommend Green Gables to clients and friends. We have been dining there for a number of years and have never been disappointed. The person who complained about the food is obviously not tuned to sophistication and sublime dining. Green Gables is more than worth the money spent, for the ambience is superb! Oh yes, if you are looking for a romantic spot, this is the place!”

“I attended a family wedding and thought it was a lovely place. We were there over Memorial Day weekend and did not think it was hot. The food was prepared well and presented nicely. The staff was helpful and well managed in presenting an atmosphere of elegance through out the wedding, reception and dinner. It was a very fine experience for all attending. The bride, groom and their families were well pleased.”

• The bartenders are the best!
• No air-conditioning, and bad food.

“I attended my friends wedding in 2006; this restaurant was the pits! Green Gables; is advertised as an upscale establishment, the food is no better than the local Church Hall. The rates they charge per person for a wedding, you would expect to receive upscale food, that did not from a can or slapped on a plate. The service, was the worst I have experienced, the servers do not have any training. The place is beautiful, but if you are intending to have a wedding at Green Gables, no air-conditioning in the building, and you would die from the heat. They do have about six fans on stands located about the room. They charge a large gratuity of 21% most other venue charge 18%. The cost of an alcoholic beverage, you would need to take out a mortgage. ”
