  • The atmosphere is wonderful!
  • Something needs to be done about the parking. I feel sorry for the residents on the street.

“This is a great date restaurant. Parking can be a challenge, and you should be prepared for a wait. They have a nice waiting area with plenty of seating. There is a bar right next to the hostess stand, so you can have a margarita while you wait. My favorite is the sangria margarita, very good! The food is good, not the best I've ever had, but very good and the atmosphere is wonderful!”

  • Great decor, good food.
  • Not enough parking.

“We never miss this place when in San Antonio. You must sit on the patio. Food is good but service is so-so. They should inform you that a song for you takes cash.”

  • I love the atmosphere and the poblano peppers in cream sauce. Chips and hot sauce are excellent.
  • It has gone downhill a little since the old owner lost the restaurant, due to tax problems, to the new owner.

“The ambiance is a 10. One can get items at this restaurant that one can't get anywhere else, such as the poblano peppers in cream sauce, the mushroom tacos, sausage (chorizo) in melted cheese, etc. If one comes to San Antonio, this is the restaurant that can't be missed.”

  • Great margaritas.
  • Boracho beans void of any flavor, how do you mess up enchilada gravy.

“Having lived in San Antonio for more than four decades, and sampled Mexican food from all over town, this is one of the most overrated places in town. While having a very nice atmosphere, the food here in no way represents the best S. A. has to offer, suffering both in quality and price. Go for a margarita, and chips and salsa, but not for dining.”
