“Pacific was a great restaurant, if you don't mind being treated like trailer trash. We live in the Seattle area but have a condo on Beach. We eat out at fine establishments 3 to 4 times a week. We have frequented Pacific for years and liked it. For years this was a great restaurant, but sadly no more. If you want Oceanside dining consider Leilani's On The beach.”

“We have been eating at Pacifico's for years and had always found the food very good, pricey but tolerable, and a place we would recommend to friends and always eat there at least once a trip (we own a home in Kapalua so that means 3-4 times or more per year). But no longer! We went there for New Years Eve with four friends from New York (adults who eat out often), telling them what a great place this would be to celebrate. It was so embarrassing. We ordered drinks, and they were fine. The menu was fixed depending on entree. The oyster appetizer was in an unpleasant sauce, and we each ate only half of it. The salads looked like yesterday's leftovers. The entrees were indifferent, mine an ahi/marlin roll that was nicely covered in a fried exterior, but totally tasteless. The desserts were also undistinguished and left unfinished. We had wine with dinner by the glass and they were poured with a stingy eye. The waiter tried, but was working alone and as we had the 9:00 seating, he seemed tired and burnt out, as did the rest of the staff. Then there was the single musician, a very average singer/acoustic guitar player who played non-stop oldies, like, Tie a Yellow Ribbon, and others, for the whole time we were there and was playing when we left. Then there were the party favors: noise makers and shiny hats, tiaras and cardboard horns. The only good entertainment was on the beach where kids were setting off fireworks. It was a New Years Eve dinner, a terrible value and bad experience. (What was the inflated New Years pricing paying for?) Worst, I left my cell number and full name on the comments card and that was the 31st. Not a call yet so now this review. I ended that comment card with these words, and I still mean them: "What happened to you." I had read the other reviews and could not believe the bad ones, now I do. There is a sister restaurant next door, which we also always liked. There is a recent review on them that looks bad, but maybe they are worth a try as the other reviews are good. But after this experience at Pacifico, I would not risk my dining out enjoyment to give Pacifico another chance, there are too many wonderful restaurants in beautiful places on Maui to fool around.”

“Server treated us like kids. Mashed potatoes were from a box. Food overall was overpriced. Sunset view was incredible. If you're vacationing on Maui, get a burger from a fast food joint and eat it on the beach.”

“My brother recently had his wedding reception at pacific and we did not have a good experience. Of the three servers that helped us only one was helpful (Ashley was horrible). Extremely poor service. For over $70 a plate you would think that some good service would come along with it. Wrong! I would not recommend this place to anyone! We had a group of 30 people and rather than putting us upstairs in privacy we were on the deck which was very rude to other customers. As we were giving toasts etc, the other customers probably could barely hear one another speak. Not very good planning on the side of pacific staff. Also, they pre cut the wedding cake so the bride only got to see the top layer. She was not happy because she spent a fortune on a cake that she never saw. On the other hand, kudos to the kitchen because the food was wonderful. .”

• Being able to dine almost in the ocean!
• Nothing negative!

“We have been frequent Pacifco guests over a period of many years and you never fail to please. My husband of 58 years just passed away. Of all the favorite memories and pictures I have of us together, Pacifico is in the background. Atmosphere is wonderful, view is perfect, food is excellent, service is great. Thanks for many happy memories.”
