“They have an unannounced early special which promised to be a good value of $19.95 for a 2 lb. lobster. The lobster was undercooked and served split but very messy to deal with. The salad was inedible. The coffee was bitter and undrinkable. Even the water was undrinkable! The server was the worst ever. The bread was stale. For example, when asked (not offered) she brought ice water with lemon although we specified no lemon. Then she proceeded to remove the lemon with her fingers! The bread she brought was stale. The salad, although we asked for dressing on the side, was brought with dressing mixed in it. We knew about the lobster special otherwise she did not offer it to us. Her behavior was smirky and inattentive. The manager was worse. All I can say is stay far away.”

“We had the worst customer service at this restaurant. The restaurant manager was rude and actually took the drinks right off the table rather than stand behind his waitress who made a mistake. Even worse still, he charged the waitress personally for the drinks. Restaurant manager was rude.”

“I had a great time sat at the bar. Bartender was great and refilled our drinks all the time. Had appetizers and it was great. The place is great if you want to stay local and not drive far. Apparently what needs to be changed after reading the reviews is management. It's basically a hit or miss but our bartender was awesome!”

“The Manager was not helpful and was rude. Smoking in the restaurant (at the bar) made the entire restaurant smell of smoke. I have never been to a restaurant whereby a 3 for 1 was not allowed to be shared. This is not advertised that way and it encourages a customer to drink too much. $8.00 for a glass of wine is excessive when not shared. The food was only so-so. The special salmon was $24.95 expensive for salmon. The lobster was a buy but not of good quality.”

“The food was definitely substandard. To take our drink order, we had to bus our own tables 3 different times & when we complained about the food or the idea of busing our own tables, we were told she's not the cook or the bus boy. We asked to speak with the manager, what a character he is he could care less. I went to talk to him he seemed very annoyed he came over & examined the food & with hesitation took it back, & explained about the service he did not even apologize & said if we weren't happy don't come back. The lobsters that they advertised 2 lbs are not more than 1-1/4. I can assure you and are definitely substandard even the table next to us asked if we could bus their table & complained about the food & service. I must say the entire staff seemed very shady. Oh, and also please make sure you double check your bill very carefully, because they will over charge you.”

“This was the worst experience I have ever had. We had to wait 2 hours for our food. Also, the lobster was no way 2 lbs. Maybe 1-1/4 lbs and was very dry we wanted to send it back they refused, one person in our party never even received his food. Soup was burnt how do you burn soup. The waitress was so unfriendly & rude. The bus boy was threatening to my son, my daughter ordered Chicken Quesadillas they gave her Sliced Chicken on a plate. He would not supply the owners information. Then the manager proceeded to get the bouncer to embarrassed our entire party. The manager was asked to come to our table 3 times needless to say he never showed until we were leaving. The manager has no idea of what customer service is. They will never see us again. Plus I will tell everyone I know never to go there. I have been in customer service for over 40 years I have never been treated so poorly & I will let everyone I know not to go there. The table that was next to us also agreed.”

“Lobsters were close to two lbs. as stated. Happy hour 3 for 1 a good deal no sharing of drinks. Service was excellent (Thanks Ashley and the bus). Chill out and enjoy yourself, don't be obnoxious. I did not have any steaks, but the Lobster was hot and not over-steamed.”

“The food was substandard. Two pound lobsters were, but in actuality they were more like 1 1/4 lb. Also they were lukewarm, obviously precooked, and not particularly tender. The steak had a funny taste (reported by 2 in our party) and was tough. Manager was rude and said I can't do anything about the taste and walked away from our table and my lovely 88 year old aunt who was speaking to him. This meal was not up to par and certainly not worth the cost.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“The lobsters were in no way 2 lb. The were 1 1/4 lb at best. They were cold and it was clear that they were precooked. The baked potato was warm, not hot. The soup was lukewarm. The strip steak that too in our party ordered were inedible. One was tender and had a funny taste. The other was tough, grisly and had a funny taste. All at the table that tasted the meat agreed. The manager was called. My aunt explained that her steak was tender but tasteless and he said, I can't do anything about the taste, and was quite rude to an 88 year old gentle woman. He did not offer her another entree but simply walked away. When the gentleman in our group mentioned his steak was tough and tasteless, he was offered another entree. He chose salmon which was dry and also left uneaten. The table next to us had a similar experience. A gentleman at that table had sent his chicken pram back three times and said it was horrible. The manager was likewise rude to him and another woman at the table. On a positive note, our server was wonderful. He was efficient and apologetic. None of these bad experiences could be attributed to him. In summary, we will never return to this establishment. Their manager is rude, insensitive and knows nothing of customer service.”

“Outside seating at night seems nice. But, inside you need an oxygen mask! I do not smoke and do not mind, but it is impossible to breath and one gets the feeling of smoking a complete pack of cigarettes.”

“Used to go there often until one night we were treated very shabbily by the waiter and manager. Too many problems to go into detail but I am a firm believer in treating people the way I want to be treated and this joint failed miserably on that count. It's been a few years since that last fiasco so I thought I'd give it another try to see if things had gotten any better.”

“One of the worst nights our party ever had. We all ordered the 2 lb lobsters. They were maybe 1 1/4lb & that was the biggest one in our group. The baked potato was not cooked & was cold. The veggies were not done & cold. The lobsters were cooked but cold. The manager was without a doubt the most nasty sarcastic man we ever met. He was more concerned to hit on girls at the bar, drink & smoke rather than make the patrons happy. He told us if we were not happy never come back. He was lucky I am a gentleman. There was a Christmas party the night we were there. We were the only table at the moment in the back where the party was. The door was open & was a cold night. We asked George if he would be so kind as to move us to the main dining room. He was rude & would not move our party. Ten minutes later another party came in was seated next to us, they complained & he moved them right away. Ten minutes later another party came in was seated in the back. Yes you guessed it they complained & were moved to the main dining room. In closing we overheard the parties complaining about the same problems we occurred. I have no clue if he did anything for them.”

“Porterhouse Bar & Grill Club. You're either a bar & grill or you're a club. I've never been to a bar & grill with a dress code. I was pretty let down in the end. There's no doubt that this is a nice place to have an ok meal and maybe a few good drinks. However, if you're looking to have some after hours fun then I would highly recommend that you head down to the beach and find a club near the water instead. The place was designed as a bar & grill but they've turned it into a want to be dance club. Yeah there's dancing and people really got into it but just to move around the bar, or to go outside, you have to walk right through the middle of the dance floor. Don't bother bringing your drink with you because you're not allowed to order at the bar and then walk around unless you start another tab with the server in that area (the bouncers make sure of that). Speaking of bouncers they try too hard to impress the manager. They love to show you who's in charge and probably have a bad case of little you know what syndrome. We were a group of 7 going out for my birthday and the bouncer is telling us that we're too loud (we were on the patio, in the corner, minding our own business. And if we were loud it was just because the music was loud, game a break). Our server in the end was really nice, if not lazy and didn't forget anything. Her problem was just that she was so pushy with the drinks. I like to drink my drinks not chug them. Apparently this place is under new management and I suppose that they're still working the kinks out. I can tell that the management wants to make you happy and give you all deserving services of a good night out. I just can't get over the fact their staff made us all feel unwanted. We're all easy going, don't ask for much and just want to have a slightly warm atmosphere to hang out in. I can't explain everything, but I'll simply have you know that I don't ever plan to go back there upon my own free will.”

“Stopped in with friends for a drink about 1 am Sat. eve. Couldn't take the smoke due to health reasons, went out front for fresh air, walked to outside seating, wasn't permitted to enter unless walking through smoky bar to outside seating. Stated that we were already patrons inside, friends that we came with were at bar. Asked to speak to manager. Manager rude, indignant, I got indignant and told to leave. Would not give reason for not letting us enter outside seating from outside. Will never return and thinking about contacting news.”

“I have been going there for years. Disappointed, only once, with the service. Having been in the industry over 30 years, I can tell you what's good and what's not. The Porterhouse is all around excellent. On any occasion that calls for assistance, we have been treated like royalty. Fine, fine dining without the price & snootiness. Walk in happy, leave happier.”

“We were there on a Friday night with another couple. The other couple requested a server that they had the previous month. He started out very well and then totally fizzled out to nothing. We could not get refills, dirty dishes sat on our table through the entire meal and the food got cold while we were waiting for condiments. The server kept saying that he would be right there and he would stand at the bar, look over at us and talk to the bartender. When we complained to him, he said he was busy. The table next to us was complaining about the same things and complaining to the manager. The server said that he was buying dessert. When I finally complained to the manager, the server brought the wrong condiments to the table and our baked potatoes were cold. Fifteen minutes later, he brought new potatoes, so we had them for dessert since everyone had finished the rest of their meal. Finally the manager came over, still unable to provide us with the owner's name or phone number. Another server threw four pieces of cheesecake on the table and said that the manager was buying dessert. It was left untouched. The server publicly screamed at me because I finally gathered up the dirty dishes and placed them on another table. He told me that he didn't appreciate what I was doing because they had a busboy to do that. He attracted the attention of the whole restaurant and I was humiliated. I have thirty two years in management in the restaurant industry and this was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant.
