“ Jun was recommended to me by all the people I knew who were either Japanese or had lived in Japan. I have loved it ever since. It's fairly unassuming--but we all know some of the best ethnic food is found in strip-mall storefronts. Unless you go to the new secondary location (that one has the flashy decor and benihana-style cooking tables) don't expect a ton of artsy atmosphere. But Jun has it where it counts: low prices, great wait staff, and great food. Dinner entries range from $7-$13--I recommend the teriyaki salmon and salmon kasuzuka. Lunches are even cheaper, and Jun offers really great combo meals with beef or chicken teriyaki, tempura and California roll. That is what we usually get. When our budget is tight, we ask to be seated at the sushi counter and my husband and I are able to have miso soup, pickled cucumber salad, a drink each, and two orders of sushi all for under $15, including tips tot he hardworking sushi chefs. Jun is family friendly. I have four children, 6 years old and under, and no matter how noisy or messy my kids have gotten, the wait staff has always been patient, helpful, and accommodating. Nobody knows customer service like a Japanese waitress! My favorite dishes are the salmon teriyaki and the salmon kasuzuke. They also do a good tempura squid, not too salty or chewy. But where Jun really shines is the sushi--they have the basic, plus numerous specialty rolls. My favorite is the Becca roll, a combination of raw salmon, avocado, unagi and bean sprouts. I'd always enjoyed the tastes of sushi, but the Becca roll also artfully combines different textures. And it's cheaper than lesser sushi I've eaten at other sushi bars. Jun is right by a Hollywood video and a Meineke's. Wait times are never as bad as they are at, say, Olive Garden or Chili's, but I suggest getting there right after they open for lunch at 11 am, or for dinner at 5. More people are finding out about Jun all the time and if you have a large group and go at peak times you may wait for up to 20 minutes.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in Colorado SpringsView all restaurants in Colorado Springs
