“Visited Becco for the first time Friday, March 28, 2008 at 1:00 in the afternoon. Service was good, although we were seated in a corner by a wall. Told the waiter we were not happy with the seat, but were not offered another even though one was available the entire time we were there. Food was plentiful, but somewhat bland. Nice wine list. Before paying the check, a mouse ran across the room and under the unoccupied table next to us. Two other diners also saw this and told the waiter who informed the hostess. She came to the table to apologize, but did not so much as offer a complimentary cup of coffee. My daughter and I thought this a bit odd. Perhaps this is not an unusual sighting at this restaurant. I will not go back, nor would I recommend Becco. We draw the line at rodents, especially while the restaurant was right in the middle of a busy lunch.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“I am going to disagree about removing the pasta also. I had the pasta trio and thought it was absolutely delicious! I liked each one better than the next. The spinach ravioli were amazing. I can't wait to go back so I can try three new pasta dishes.”

“I completely disagree with the other review that asks for the pasta special to be removed from the menu. The pasta special is why I go to beckon. I have been to beckon over a dozen times and loved the pasta specials. The special is priced right, made in house and fresh, and served from the pan right at your table. The pasta is firm and fantastic. If you are lucky they will have mushroom ravioli as one of the specials. I do agree that the veal dishes are great but you better be hungry if you order both. No place in the city has a wine list with so many wines at $25 a bottle...”

“We went at 7:45 after the theatre crowd had left and sat by the bar. The decor was old world Italian, very cozy. I ordered the ossobuco which was excellent, and my wife got the trio pasta special which I would not recommend. One of the pastas was a simple spaghetti with tomatoe sauce, another was polenta with a little veal ragu which was quite nice, but the last pasta was terrible, rigatoni with broccoli with hot pepprocini mixed in . There was way too much butter and black pepper used in this dish. The experience rminded me of the pasta buffet in college. I would not reccomend this special. I would recommend they remove it from the menu completely. The wine list was excellent and reasonabally priced. ” 8 of 11 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in New York CityView all restaurants in New York City
