“I went to this restaurant based on a recommendation from the hotel staff when I checked in. The outside is slightly run down but once you walk in the door, everything else is amazing. The matron treated me like family from the start. As a female on business, sometimes eating alone can be awkward, but he said he would sit me at the bar and we will take care of you. They definitely did. I ordered the Chiopinno and a glass of the house Cabernet, which they kept full all evening. The chiopinno was absolutely fantastic. To finish it off they brought me a complimentary Sabayon (chocolate custard dessert) and a small glass of Marsala wine, (which they refilled several times). Overall it was a phenomenal restaurant with great food, service, and ambiance. I will definitely return for another visit when I am back in town.”

“Went to this restaurant on a Thursday evening at the peak of the dinner rush. Sadly, I was dining alone (traveling on business - tried this spot on recommendation of one of the employees of the customer I was visiting). Even so, I only had to wait a few minutes for a table. I ordered the Linguine Tutti Mare, which was fantastic and a glass of the house Red wine - a Chianti - what can I say, I like Red wine... I finished off with an order of their home made Tira Misu and a Cafe Late. Of course then there was the Maderia (complimentary, nice touch). All in all, a great meal although the service was a bit lax. I attributed that to the fact that I was dining alone, and that it was really busy. definitely worth another visit if/when I get to South San Fran again.” 5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

“A traditional family run restaurant celebrating 75 years of serving San Francisco. The menu is excellent with all the usual favorites, complimented by daily specials. The staff make you fell like one of the 'family' immediately which had us returning night after night we had such a great time. The food was so fresh and served and presented as if you were in Italy.
