“Three of us (a group of friends from work) went to see a band we'd heard of on a Friday night. The band was great and the place was fairly busy-not packed. We saw servers traveling throughout the room but could not make any eye contact. Ordering at the bar there were about a dozen tap handles but we had to order bottled beer as the tap system didn't work. One of the few interactions with staff at our table came at closing time when a guy (their doorman?) while drinking a beer banged his hand on our table and shouted, "Drink Up!" Our drinks were empty, but since the servers were too busy ignoring us or doing other duties to help them get off work faster, the empties sat at the table. As we prepared to leave, I asked my friends to wait a minute while I used the restroom since we had a 30 mile drive home. While they waited, the beer drinking ogre returned. One of my friends, unfortunately, felt it was necessary to mention that his rude treatment was not making us want to return. Apparently more concerned that our party was out of the establishment before he finished his beer than our future business, he shouted that the bar was closed and we had to leave immediately. By the time I returned from the bathroom and we headed for the door, the rest of the staff was shouting obscenities at our entire group, including the manager. The obscenities didn't stop even when we were at the door. I was in shock at the complete lack of even one level headed employee in the establishment while this was going on. I've heard very nice things about the owner and wonder if she is aware of how her staff behaves in her absence. I've worked in the restaurant industry and would never treat a customer in the manner we were treated and I would never have worked for a manager who behaved the way that their manager behaved on this particular evening. Are these people even aware that they work in the hospitality industry? While the music and food quality are good, I have never seen service this bad before in my life. Had I not been there for the band I would have not stayed more than one drink. I will not return, but I will make sure to let all of my friends and family knows about this every opportunity that arises.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.
