• Crabs.
• Long wait.

“This is a crab shack! It is far from horrible. We visit every year, and this is the place all 25 of us are excited to go to. We eat crab. There is not a place in this world that you can eat four different types of crab for 25 dollars. I must eat about $100 worth myself. The other eats are filler. I am not sure who eats them but I don't. I eat the crab, peel and eat shrimp, mussels, oysters and the rolls. Then I eat all the dessert I want! It is noisy, crowded and messy but not due to the lack of staff attention. The people flock into this place, and we all know it is for the crabs. They do their best to clean up after their messy customers by removing shell buckets constantly and refilling sodas and drinks. We recommend it for all. If you want a cute, comfortable meal where you can have a great conversation, this is not the place. If you love crabs, atmosphere and margaritas come on down and have some fun! Usually a long wait.”

• Awesome crab legs! Great service. Offer kids bar for under $8.
• Long wait (worth it), super crowded (part of the beach crab shack fun!).

“We've been to the outer banks for the last 8 summers and this is our all time favorite buffet. Eat crab legs for hours! So, the cons: probably a crazy long wait (although, you may get in before their expected wait time for you), super crowded (kind of part of the fun. Loud, crowded, messy hands. It's all in good fun, yaw knows). The best parts: crab legs (several different kind to choose from), drink specials, kid's prices, huge buffet, service has always been great despite the crowd. I recommend for sure! (My mouth is watering now).”

• Snow crab legs - they were okay.
• Everything else.

“This restaurant is dirty, over-crowded, and the food was horrible. I understand that this is a buffet, but the quality of the food should be decent, not soggy, greasy, over-done, and starting to film-over. This is the hillbilly hang-out of kitty hawk. Travelers to the outer banks should not go to this place.”

• Cheap chairs, crowded

“Great crab shack!! Food was plentiful and HOT! Price was ~$25.00 per person with drink specials. Highly recommend if you want great food and relaxation. ”
