“Walk into the tavern and you automatically feel relaxed, because the decor is charming, peaceful, and a bit romantic. In fact, we were pleased to witness an acceptance of a proposal of marriage one evening. We also bring our business clients in because they feel right at home. They are impressed with the Tavern's outstanding food and beverage selection of such high quality. The Tavern's servers are professionally discrete, and they know how to give your clients proper conversation time. Big deals have been made in the tavern dining rooms. Their upper level also features 2 beautiful private rooms that a great for business or social events. We have always been more than pleased with the private room service. As for the food, wow is a start. You can certainly tell that the kitchen staff really enjoys preparing food that puts a smile on their guest's faces. We love their prime USDA steaks, and have never had a better steak elsewhere. The fresh seafood is wonderful, and the rack of lamb must be ordered. I started eating lamb for the first time at the tavern and it most certainly delivers a wonderful taste sensation. We haven't ever sent anything back to the kitchen because we did not like the taste. If a diverse menu gives you reason for pause, the servers are always happy to suggest some of their favorite dishes. For guests who like to experiment with food tastes, our server once picked our entire meal and we absolutely enjoyed it all. Be sure to look at the wine by the glass list and the awesome wine by the bottle list. If you start with a glass, you will have plenty of time to find a perfect bottle to share. Their wine steward is available to assist in a selection as well. Don't forget to stop at the bar for an after dinner drink or a single malt scotch.”

“I use this restaurant for entertaining business associates on the weekdays but my wife loves to go there with me on the weekends. Fantastic steaks, a great and fairly priced wine list and a somewhat casual but charming atmosphere keep us coming back.” 7 of 7 people found this review helpful.

“This establishment has great atmosphere, service, food, and selection. Although it is certainly a fine dinning experience, there is still a quaint and friendly feel. The menu is uniquely excellent. I had salmon with a pesto cavier. The wine list is second to none, and the bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and helpful when making selections. Although I do not recommend it as a place to take children, my son was treated very well by the staff. The chef even talked to him about how the mussels were prepared.” 15 of 15 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in LibertyvilleView all restaurants in Libertyville
