• Attractive decor, reasonable prices for the quality.
• Don't order the porch chop unless you like them very pink inside.

“Attractive decor in a historic home. The night we visited, my companion ordered the grilled porch chop on the recommendation of the waiter. The very thick chop was pink and raw looking in the middle. After we pointed that out they took it away and brought another one. It wasn't done right either. I ordered gumbo and a crab cake. Both were delicious. After we asked they comped the under done dinner cheerfully, but didn't offer to do it.”

• Good brunch menu.
• It was surprisingly cold in Charleston, and the restaurant was drafty where we sat.

“We went to Poogan's Porch for brunch. There were a lot of great choices on the menu. I went out on a limb and chose a crab cake omelet, and I really enjoyed it. Everything we ordered was great.”
