  • The server was pleasant.
  • Dirty, overpriced, and low quality food.

“The place had a bad smell. The restaurant appeared unclean. The women's restroom was dirty and had broken fixtures. The food was overpriced for the quality. The food was bland tasting, I've had better out of the freezer section of Wal-Mart.”

  • Calamari appetizer.
  • Too many to list. Even the plants outside were dead! Close it!

“The worst dinner meal in many a year. The place smells of cleaning solution and is dirty (look at the light fixtures). The calamari was very good. We should have stopped there. The scallops were bitter and tasted of burned grease from grilling. It was sent back. The replacement meal had the same burned grease taste. The other dish ordered was deep fried breaded prawns. They must have been cooked a day before. Dried up! Rice seemed to be last week's leftovers. The green beans were dried up and not cut able. We couldn't wait to leave.”

  • View is great.
  • Probably the worst place I have ever eaten.

“Found Sinbad¿s driving by and decide to drop in. Boy, what a disappointment. After entering the place seemed to smell musty but rustic so we decided to eat. Waiter could have cared less about being a waiter. He and the bus boy never brought the items you asked for had to ask 3 times for ice tea, parmesan cheese (out of a can, not fresh). I had the Clams and pasta Alfred...the pasta was not drained properly and was added to the Alfred which watered it down extensively making it taste like hot cheesy water. Daughter got the $34 fillet, medium. The supposed 8 oz steak came burned to a crisp and was about 5 oz. My daughter was so upset she didn¿t want anything else and just bread, which by the way was not the good SF sour dough. Wife had shrimp which was average but the rice tasted like rusty dishwater and veggies were mushy. No one asked how our dinner was, thanked us or seemed to care about anything. Paid the bill (minus the steak) and left a small tip. The best thing to happen to this place is for it to burn down, anything less would be a crime.”

  • Nothing Positive to Say.
  • The Restaurant Patrons seem to be somewhat of a inconvenience to the management of Sinbad's.

“Our arrival at Sinbad's happened to coincide with a battle between the manager (seemed to be a rather smug chap to say the least) and a customer over a valid discount card which he was refusing to accept at the time the check was been paid. The restaurant was empty apart from 6 people @ 2 tables, we waited about 4 minutes before a member of staff (3 at the counter) bothered to even notice us. We where seated at a window seat which overlooked the Alameda / Oakland Ferry dock, a waiter who was rather pleasant asked if we would like something to drink we said that water would be fine. After waiting about 15 minutes the waiter returned to take our order, we ordered 2 soups and half sandwiches, along with a cheeseburger and fries, after another 15 minutes the food arrived. We where rather shocked, 1 bowl of soup was overflowing, while the other was less than three quarters full, the grilled Tuna sandwiches looked like something a 5 year old had put together and over grilled, I have to say that the burger was quite good, but the fries where fried to death and tasted like fried. cardboard. If there was ever a restaurant that was a candidate for Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Disasters this is one, the whole place looks rundown, and the menu is dead in the water. I wish I could say something good about Sinbad's but it is clear that this place has seen better days and is trying to live on it's past laurels. In the newspaper world you are only as good as your last story and it is clear that Sinbad's needs a new story. Sinbad's Owners and staff could learn a lot from Bob Farrell's "Give me the pickle" remember the customer is the Boss and you are their to serve them and hope they come back this customer will most certainly not be coming back.”
