“I first went to this restaurant when I was 5 years old. I am now 41. It has been a couple years since I have been there, but it was the same great place at 5 years old, as it was at 30 something! There has been a little renovation over the years. The restaurant has a wonderful old fashioned oak bar in the entrance. Great place to chat with locals and visitors while you wait for a seat. It isn't all you can eat, but what they serve you is more than most people can eat! Since I have grown and had kids of my own, I have taken them there to start another generation of JT'ers! They still ask when are we going back to JT's. The Carson Valley Inn next door in Minden is a great place to stay and play. We love it there! Even if you stay in Lake Tahoe, it is only a 30-45 minute drive over the hill to dine at JT's and the drive is beautiful. Maybe not the best during winter, but worth it the rest of the year!”

“Fantastic restaurant in the valley. We visit every time we pass through the area and in fact we try to time our visit to arrive at dinner time. Food is excellent and although it is not an all-you-can-eat, they provide more than you can ever possibly eat at one sitting. Those who are unfamiliar with Basque restaurants, dinner usually includes 3 to 4 main courses, soup, salad, French fries and sherbet for dessert and don't forget the pint of red wine for adults. Wait staff is friendly and quick and the fellow patrons are welcoming. Don't be surprised to encounter some honest to goodness sheepherders or local cowboys having dinner right next to you.”

“Stopped in during a business trip, was alone. Everyone was so friendly. Staff and customers that I felt right at home. Really enjoyed the meal and the camaraderie. Recommend it highly, to everyone and will be stopping in again while camping at Grover Hot Springs for a week.”

“My parents live in Reno. When I visit, it always includes a visit to the valley and jets'. We avoid eating all day, as we know of the delicious feast that awaits us. ” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“Although it has been a long time since I have eaten at JT's I remember it very well. My family was very into Basque dining when I was growing up so we ate there quite often. The best lamb, home-grown beefsteak tomatoes, excellent fries! The food was always phenomenal. And the service was equally fantastic! Waitresses that glided, glasses never empty for long (if they made it that far:), and just super friendly. The overall atmosphere was infectious. I hope to be able to visit there again soon!” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.
