“This place has gotten terrible. Not only are the workers incompetent and rude but the food is rotten. My husband and I live close by and would order from there take out on Mondays since thats the day we both work late. Every time I'd call it in the female that answered was rude. Never a thanks or have a good day. Attitude in her voice and just hung up the phone, never a bye. On one occasion I asked for an Italian sub with everything that comes on it. I open it at home and there was nothing on it but mayo and the meat! Unbelievable. Another time I ordered their Baked Potato Soup for take out. Mind you I called the order in at 2 and when my husband picked it up at 5 they told him there was no more of that soup so he got me Chicken Noodle. There was a bone in my soup, I almost choked. Stupid me still ordered from there. The following Monday was the topper. We both got subs and Potato knishes. Neither of our subs had on them the lettuce, tomato, or onion that we asked for. Just the meat and the mayo. And the potato knishes were rotten! It was disgusting. They smelled terrible and were all bubbly and shriveled. I almost puked when I opened them. I know what they normally look like and those were rotten. I will never order or go there ever again. Mikes deli is so much better and just down the road. They have never messed up my Monday order yet and I have never gotten anything rotten from there. I'm going to call the Health Dept. On the Pickle so they don't serve someone else rotten food.”

“You know there's trouble when the sub roll looks and tastes worse than a Subway plain roll. It had the look and feel of a limp hot dog bun with none of the flavor. The meat was undeniably better than at Subway. Lettuce was shredded and looked like a wet mass of seaweed. Apparently if you ask for oil and vinegar, they drench the sub in oil, no vinegar. If you like cucumbers, you'll like their pickles. Go to somewhere else.”

“My wife and I each ordered the sandwich the shop was named after. I watched the girl make mine, weighing everything out and doing things by the book. My wife's sandwich had twice the meat mine did! I am perplexed by not only the inconsistency but how little meat you are actually supposed to get. I was also discouraged at having to pay extra just to get banana peppers on my sandwich.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“Last month we stopped at Brooklyn pickle east and bought two whole corned beef sandwiches on dark rye with Russian dressing and lettuce. We took them home as the restaurant was quite crowded at the time of our visit. We were appalled to find the meat very wet and slimy when we arrived home. It appeared as if it was on the verge of spoiling and they rinsed it off in water to be able to sell it that day. I smelled of it and it had a very unpleasant odor too. Horrible experience! Needless to say, we discarded both sandwiches and it will be a very long time before we return to this sandwich shop! Maybe never as there are a lot of choices out there.”

“Great food, we first stopped at old shop a few years ago and we were pleased with the whole experience. This location is better, great, easy access good parking and best subs and sandwiches we ever got anywhere I've been eating out for over 70 years and this place is first class in my book [it's a very thick book].”

“Been going there since the old building. There's no better sandwich shop and deli in Syracuse area. Love it.” 2 of 3 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in SyracuseView all restaurants in Syracuse
