“The place was cute, but I Wanted to drive back over the mountains on our way to Portland to fly home for one more serving of their Bread Pudding. I do not even like bread pudding, but this dessert was out standing in any dessert arena. The chowder was great and the fish and fish taco's were great too, But it was the bread pudding that I was tempted to drive hours out of my way to have one more time.”

“My family and I lived in Corvallis, OR for many years and often traveled to Newport for Sunday lunch at the Chowder Bowl. We would fly our stunt kites in the morning and treat ourselves to a warm lunch afterwards. My daughter was not a chowder fan, but she (at 35) swears they make the best chili in the world. We always followed lunch with berry cobbler. It was the best! Last summer, on vacation, we again spent time in Newport. I told my husband before we got there, he would not have input into lunch - every day would be at the chowder bowl. We have another convert. We picked up two quarts of chowder to bring home and got another convert when our son-in-law also fell in love with their chowder. They need a restaurant here in Colorado - LOL!”

“The hotel has best food in Newport. The decor is really well-done, and they have added outdoor seating. The food is fantastic! It is known for it clam chowder, which we really enjoyed. We recommend the fish tacos. They were amazing. We will eat here every time we are in Newport.”

“Clam chowder on the Oregon coast has so many variations that it is hard to say what it should be like. Except it should be like the one at the Chowder Bowl. I would put it in the top 2 or 3 that I have ever had. The fish and chips are incredible. I am not sure what kind of fish it is exactly but it is perfectly cooked every time. It is so fresh it almost tastes like scallops at times. But the bread pudding is the reason to go there. I have been to New Orleans for some very good bread pudding in my life. They take bread pudding very serious in New Orleans. They are all in second place to the bread pudding at the Chowder Bowl. We drive about 70 miles for a meal here. You will not be disappointed.” Popular Restraurants in NewportView all restaurants in Newport
