  • Location and ambiance.
  • Bartender was terrible, Food was pretty awful, and Service was poor.

“Sorry Aldo's your restaurant is pretty terrible. First, our group of 8 came in and sat at the tables at the bar. The bartender completely ignored us. When we told him we wanted some beer/wine, he poured/opened the bottles and left them on the bar. Try bringing them to our table. The server was pretty absent minded. I ordered the sea bass special, it was raw in the middle and the risotto was neither smooth nor completely cooked. The others at my table were equally unimpressed. I doubt the sauces are made from scratch, probably just cooked veggies in canned sauce.”

Food:[5] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Very friendly service and lovely atmosphere.
  • The food needs a little something more.

“This restaurant will provide you with a very nice dining environment. The ambiance is great, wonderful décor. I found the service to be simply fantastic, with a lively and friendly waitress. The owners are active in the dining experience, and are friendly as well. In regards to the food, it was okay. The food is flavorful, but is definitely lacking a unique touch. Being in the Orange Circle, this restaurant is competing with Citrus City Grill and Gabi's, which both have exceptional cuisine. I would recommend Aldo's to someone who is looking for a classy and modern dining experience, but I wouldn't put it at the top of my list as far as outstanding Italian food goes.”

  • Chicken Marconi, real oil and vinegar with bread. .
  • New location is more crowded.

“I have been going to aldo's for 15 years. They used to be located on Tustin avenue, but now are just south of the traffic circle in orange. The owners are from Italy, and the place has been passed down through generations. The food is the best Italian food I have found in my travels. While the new place is a little more ritzy, and I think the service has gone down some due to the increased number of diners, the food remains the same and it is excellent. Maybe I am just frequent enough to be recognized, but the owner always stops by and sees how we are doing, and if he can do anything for us. .”

  • The atmosphere was nice. .
  • Horrible service. .

“My family and I went to the restaurant and after waiting 5 minutes at the hostess podium with no help; my husband approached the bartender to see if there was anyone working the podium. At that time the hostess came up and asked where we wanted to be seated, we pointed to a nice table outside and she sat us. We happened to be sitting at a table next to the owner and some other individuals (the hostess made note of this). After 10 minutes without any service we decided to leave. I was shocked that the owner did not make any attempt to rectify the situation. I made eye contact with him as I got up from our table and he saw us leave. There were only 2 other occupied tables in the restaurant and yet we never saw a waitress. It seams as though the owner uses the restaurant to entertain his friends and could care less about other customers. I will never visit this restaurant again. .”

“Wonderful food. Loved the Pollo Asparagi (you have to ask for it).”

  • Nice area of town - antique district.
  • Owner is incredibly rude - the customer is always wrong!

“Bad food and rude service - by the owner, no less! After ordering "Jumbo Scallops and Shrimp over Angel Hair Pasta", I received a plate with small scallops (but plentiful), 2 medium-sized shrimp and the requisite angel hair pasta. The scallops were fishy and mushy. I had not eaten any pasta, or either of the two shrimp. I decided to inform the server that I was not satisfied with my food. She apologized, asked what I would like instead (I asked for spaghetti with Arrabiatta sauce), and removed my plate from the table. A few minutes later, the owner of the restaurant came to the table, with my scallops & pasta dish, and asked what the problem was. Before I could complete my answer, he interrupted me, raised his voice, and said that no one ever sends this dish back, and perhaps this is not the restaurant for me! He's right! I'll never be back, nor will my husband, our friends who were dining with us, or anyone we ever tell this story to! To be fair, the owner's wife did try to make amends and two of the diners that night said their food was good. But the incomparable treatment I received that night warranted this review!”

Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Loved the place, the setting was wonderful!
  • There was not enough room on the tables!

“This restaurant was the worst! I wanted to strangle my server and throw the "Italian" food at her in disgust! The food is commercialized and not true to Italian one bit! Are the owners even Italian? Because if they were they would know that their food is outdated!”

  • The veal is very good, and they have good wine selections.
  • If you want to sit at a table, there's almost always a wait. But the bar serves the full menu.

“I'm usually a difficult person to please, and hardly ever give anything a ten. But Aldo's is great! My fiancée and I have been in there almost weekly since it opened, and have met some wonderful people. The food is fantastic, and the menu regularly has unique items (last weekend they had elk steak in a marsala sauce. very tasty). We enjoy it so much, we're probably going to have our rehearsal dinner there! The wine list is good, and we've yet to ever order anything that wasn't fantastic. We enjoy sitting at the bar instead of a table. The bartenders are friendly, and you'll most likely meet Arturo, the owner. It's great people watching, right in the Orange Circle!”
