“The food is very good. Fish is delicious but on the high priced side. Beer prices are OUTRAGEOUS. Your best bet is to drink water and drink beer somewhere else later.”

“Capt. Eddie's food was quite good. The wait staff was efficient. We were a party of five. They do not seat you until they can see all five. What turned me off was they bring you in, have you order, the food comes and then they want you to leave as quickly as possible. We were with someone we hadn't seen in years and two of his friends. As we talked after dinner the hostess made it very clear she had two tables of eight waiting and she wanted our space. This place is not for casual dining. It is more like a human feed lot. Bring them in, throw them the food, then push'em out. The experience was akin to the local Kiwanis breakfast where there are long tables where you come in get your pancakes and then move out for the next shift. The food is good, but they have no vision for a place to have a leisurely dinner. Too bad. Won't go back.”

“Have not taken mother to Captain Eddies for a long time but it use to be her favorite restaurant. My husband and I went this week for the first time in a long time and it will most assuredly be our last. The week before we had dinner at a similar restaurant for just $54 which included two drinks and two truly wonderful seafood dinners in a lovely setting. Yesterday we had one drink each and plastic and paper plates with no-taste potatoes (really, they had no taste) and ok fish. But I have to say in the interest of fare we saved approximately six bucks! It's obviously not the cost since it was our own stupidity. We should have checked with friends and discovered beforehand that this restaurant is simply not what it used to be.”

“Fresh seafood, check with waitperson if want food other than fried as to how it is cooked. In past years any food not fried was actually microwave; with new expansion of restaurant may not use micro waving. Reason given for micro waving was extreme small kitchen facilities. Fried food lightly fried, not greasy, batter not heavy. Seating is either at a long, curved bar or picnic type tables and benches attached to floor. Roll of paper towels on tables. Wait-persons excellent, friendly and accommodating. I usually go to Capt Eddies with a book and the waitperson always finds a table with good lighting for me. One unusual but great offer is that oyster stew can be ordered with either 4 or 8 oysters, same size bowl. Oyster stew is excellent, soft shell crab cooked to near perfection. Hard to make a choice here, have never had bad meal. Capt Eddies also has a seafood counter selling fresh fish.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in NokomisView all restaurants in Nokomis
