Food:[5] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Good atmosphere and service.
  • Food does not exactly match the menu price.

“You are definitely paying for atmosphere and service. The service was exquisite but the food did not match the service and atmosphere. For the most part the food presentation was nice. Steaks straight off the grill, still sizzling hot, served on hot plates with wooden chargers. I was a bit upset to see mashed potatoes served on a small side plate scooped with an ice cream scoop. We ordered several different cuts at different temperatures and received all our entrees at the same time, and we were all very satisfied with the temperatures our steaks were cooked, but the consensus of the table was that the steaks were not anything worth getting excited over. The price point of the menu was higher than typical corporate chain steakhouse but lower than your more extravagant restaurants. If you are simply looking for a great steak I would pass on this place. If you are looking for a quaint environment and good service, possibly a date location, I would not totally suggest Aberdeen Barn but then again I wouldn't disregard it. The table did not order any seafood.”

  • The food, the service, the atmosphere, and everything in between.
  • The prices are a little expensive, but the quality of the food almost equal it out.

“My second time visiting here and I really think it might be one of the best restaurants in Virginia. Everyone there was really friendly, our server was on top of his game all night, and the food was amazing. I took my wife here for our anniversary and we both started off with their clam appetizer and ordered the prime rib since it is their specialty. The Prime Rib was perfectly cooked and everything from the bread to the mashed potatoes was truly amazing. We ended the night with the chocolate tuxedo dessert which the waiter recommended and definitely was the best chocolate dessert we have eaten here in Virginia.”

  • There is always good looking girls in there, especially Russians.
  • Everything is bad. You have no idea what's going on in the kitchen.

“I used to work in this place and definitely it is not my favorite restaurant. It is too expensive for the quality they have. Bad managing, bad hygiene and believe me when I say bad I mean really bad. They have a lot of bad people going there.”

Food:[7] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • The bread was good.
  • This quaint, the limit restaurant with soft music, is deceivingly very noisy and disruptive.

“Last night my fiancé and I went to The Aberdeen Barn to celebrate our recent engagement. When I called to make a reservation, I was offered a quiet table by the fireplace. When we arrived, however, no one even asked what name we were under and quickly escorted us to a table in the back that shared a bench with a larger corner table. When we asked about our fireplace table we were advised that they never reserve specific tables on the weekends. The service was poor. We sat with our water glasses, Lance cracker bread sticks, a bowlful of butter and some cheese spread that tasted like it was from the dollar store. When we asked if we were supposed to have bread, we were told that it was still in the oven. It must have been 'bring your kids and all of their friends to dinner' night because I haven't seen so many kids in a restaurant since my last trip to Chuck E. Cheese. Between the kids crying, carrying on, climbing on the seats, the two songs constant re-played by the gloomy clarinet and keyboard players, you could barely have a conversation without feeling like you were yelling. The wait staff seemed frazzled, a little all over the place and inattentive at best. When our waitress said “if you need anything, just holler” she truly meant it!! We constantly waited for drink refills, bread, etc. If a quiet, relaxing, (and possibly romantic) restaurant is what you are looking for stay far away from The Aberdeen Barn!”

Food:[2] • Service:[2] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • Elderly lady playing the piano was okay
  • The food was awful and the meal very expensive.

“Took my wife there for our anniversary last night. Ordered the Seared Tuna and steamed vegetables. Even though it was a house special they told me the Tuna was bad, so I had to re-order. When the meal came the Broccoli was so overcooked they fell apart when my fork touched them--like green goo. Had to send it back: Inedible! She brought me more of the same overcooked mess. I asked the waitress why she couldn't tell these vegetables were overcooked. She said "I don't know that stuff, I don't eat anything green." $103 dollars for a meal for two, and they can't cook broccoli? Food from anopther time--think England in 1950. ”

Food:[8] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Food and waiter were very good.
  • The girl that sat us could barely speak English.

“It was like trying to eat at a bus stop, too many noisy people standing around waiting for a table, tables are very close, no privacy, several televisions on in competition with the guy singing and playing the piano.

The blender for the frozen drinks was 4 feet away from my head and apparently there was a big demand for frozen drinks. The environment was not the least bit relaxing, there is a sense of urgency to eat and get out to escape the confusion and the noise. Talked to the owner and manager about this and they were indifferent, they said they were in the process of changing the arrangement and it would be better when construction was complete.”
