“State street grille's menu and location make the perfect setting for a romantic dinner, and being it allows you to drink a good wine without having to pay for the huge mark up that other restaurants charge. Tip: ask for a table in the dining area (specify that you do not want a table in the back by the coat racks and bathrooms). An important part of going out to dinner is the atmosphere it's not just the food that makes the experience a memorable one. The owners of state street grille should either decorate that back area or just take those tables out. It was quite a disappointment to be stuck in the back of a beautiful restaurant for our anniversary dinner. Especially when we made reservations several days in advance. The main part of the dining area would earn a 9 in the atmosphere category.”

“We loved the State Street Grille. We went there the first time on a tip from another parent from day care. It was perfect for a special/romantic dinner for my birthday. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. There was a good variety of entree selections, including some that featured the local mushroom specialties. The BYOB policy added to the value of the whole evening (leaving room for desert of course!). We went back about 3 months later with some friends (one of whom is rather "discerning" about restaurants) and we had such a great time that we were the last to leave! I would have given all tens in my review, but that seemed "too good to be true". So the one "9" is because the State Street Grille isn't closer to our home, but it was well worth the 30 minute drive! I have never been compelled to write an on-line restaurant review, but this place is great!!”

“I have taken friends and family to the State Street Grille and try not to impose my opinion on them but we usually order from the Prix Fixed Menu and every time we all have found the food to be very good and the service was well above average. The last group of friends had just tried the "Dine Out in Boston" and considered this superior to the food and service they were paid much more for in Boston. They have every intention of returning when they come back to this area. I actually hate to recommend the Grille as it has always been one of our secret places but they need the exposure for others to find the quality and service which is a great value. If you happen to have Ethan as a server, he is an expert on beers and we followed his advice and found it to be right on target. I can only comment on dinner, as I have not tried lunch.”

“From the open kitchen to the cozy atmosphere, the whole dining experience at The State Street Grille was amazing. The way the flavors are put together they make you wonder what could possibly be next and wanting to try everything on the menu. It all sounds and tastes wonderful. It is a great experience for you pallet, everyone should try.”

“While passing thought the region, we stopped in at the State Street Grill. Though the restaurant is situated in the midst of many storefronts, one will quickly find that behind the humble facade lies an eating establishment which would quickly compare with some of the finest restaurants found in the most popular cities in the world. In family friendly fashion, we were quickly greeted by Evelyn, one of the owners, who expediently led us to a perfectly appropriate table for our gang of four, and it wasn't long before her husband, Richard, which we would shortly find to be quite the chef, had come out to meet us as well. To make a long story short, we can sum up the fare as being delicately prepared to perfection. From the appetizers through dessert, it is quite obvious that each and every course is meticulously prepared; we could tell that chef Richard would have it no other way. If you are in the area or close enough to drive to, do yourself a favor and eat there; we find it highly probable that you will be quite impressed.” Popular Restraurants in Kennett SquareView all restaurants in Kennett Square
